The Titans have expanded their outside back options by signing Harley Smith-Shields from the Canberra Raiders. Smith-Shields, who has played as a centre, wing, and fullback in 15 NRL games, was out of the Raiders’ team after the first 6 weeks of the season due to an ACL injury. The 23 year old missed the entire 2022 season due to this injury and is now looking to rebuild his career with the Titans in Gold Coast.
Meanwhile, the Brisbane Broncos re-signed second-rower Jordan Riki for another three years, shortly after also securing back-rower Brendan Piakura at the club until the end of 2027. Cronulla also signed prop Toby Rudolf to a new two-year contract, tying him down through 2026.
Additionally, the NRL has granted former representative centre Michael Jennings permission to sign a train-and-trial deal with the Roosters, pending his acceptance of specific conditions.
The Roosters have also re-signed young forward Siua Wong until the end of the 2026 season.
In other news, Wests Tigers winger Charlie Staines has signed a two-year deal to stay with the NRL club until the end of 2025.
Veteran playmaker Matt Moylan has been released by the Cronulla Sharks to join Super League club Leigh Leopards.
