It’s Christmas time again, and another significant year in rugby league comes to an end. This year, both the NRL and NRLW have crowned repeat premiers. As the 12 days of Christmas approach, rugby league fans are eagerly anticipating gifts from their favorite sport.
First on the list, rugby league gifts a Matt Ridge in a pine tree, a playful play on the name of Matthew Ridge, known as an excellent Sea Eagles and Warriors custodian. Then, two turtles at dummy half, referring to the Brisbane Norths, Redcliffe, and Broncos player Greg ‘Turtle’ Conescu, known for his hard work and 10 Test appearances for the Kangaroos.
The 12 days of Christmas rugby league extravaganza continues with three French tens, four calling birds, five Marvin Goldens on the wing, six Gleesons laying, seven Swanns a-selling, eight players milking, nine ladies advancing, ten ‘Lord Teds’ leaping, and eleven Panthers ‘peating with their third consecutive premiership.
It’s been a big year in rugby league, and the gifts just keep on coming.
