2023 was a rollercoaster year in sports in and outside of Australia. The year is coming to a close soon, and many events in the sporting world have come and gone. Among these events are a number of memorable quotes by athletes and sports figures. Some were interesting, some were cringe-worthy, and we can’t help but wonder which ones we’ve missed.
Ange Postecoglou made headlines when he shared his thoughts about coaching Tottenham, the team he grew up supporting. Shawn Marsh was left speechless after winning the Brownlow Medal. Rugby coach Eddie Jones has never ceased to amaze with his sometimes wacky, sometimes strange, yet always interesting, insights. Additionally, the stumping of Jonny Bairstow during the Ashes was another highlight of the year.
There’s no doubt added, 2023 won’t be forgotten anytime soon due to it being not only entertaining but also packed with memorable moments. This year in sports was certainly a beautiful one.
